Christmas at the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home.
It’s that time of year when we seek that perfect gift and long for the fresh bake goodies from our Grandmothers kitchen! Days filled with family gatherings, sometimes hours of road travels as we spend time with family. House after house is filled with the smell of ham, the sweetness of fresh deserts, and all the sounds and sights of Christmas. Oh Christmas! Now imagine; you have none of this. You or maybe you and your siblings have never smelled or seen the love we know as Christmas. All you know is survival or just trying to survive. For two years the families at Zion have been blessed to spend time with one group at the Tennessee Baptist Children’s home. The blessing received is great, but the blessing is to us that have the opportunity to give. This year was no less a blessing and our hope is that these young men will hold fast to the God that has brought them out of circumstances beyond the norm we may know and placed them to hear and experience his love. Thanks be to God for allowing us to be a part of his blessing! Please take time to follow the link to the children’s home at: http://www.tennesseechildren.org/ and see what you may do to share the love you have known to one that may have not smelled or heard the sounds of Christmas. May the lord bless you and your family this Christmas!
Psalm 10:14
but you, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.
